WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE BELIEVE
Journey Church is a Southern Baptist church, free to make our own decisions, financially support our ministry, and physically make sure that the work is accomplished. We believe that the work accomplished to compile the doctrines called "The Baptist Faith and Message" is prudent and well done. Therefore, we have chosen to align our doctrines based upon that truth of scripture.
OUR PURPOSE:
Journey church's Purpose is based upon Matthew 28:19-20.
"We seek to train everyone we meet in the way of Jesus Christ, instruct believers to faithfully practice this way, and to lead them all to reach others as Christ has instructed us."
OUR MISSION:
"To provide direction on the JOURNEY of life"
This will be accomplished through:
* Worship
* Ministry
* Evangelism / Missions
* Fellowship
* Discipleship
OUR VISION:
"Evangelism leading to multiplication"
Journey Church will be devoted to making Jesus Christ famous in the Joplin metro area through evangelism, ministry, worship, discipleship, fellowship and missions- both locally and globally. As this vibrant congregation grows, we shall lead members of the church to go forth to reach, teach and baptize by the method of quality discipleship, joyful fellowship, passionate worship, evangelism and church planting. While Journey Church members shall provide for the spiritual, emotional and when possible, physical and financial needs of their brothers and sisters, we shall be ever mindful of the need to expand beyond our walls and plant like minded congregations in our region and around the world. Therefore, members will be taught the importance of adding to our numbers, that we may send out into the world to reach other for the kingdom of God.
OUR VALUES:

Family - Placing much emphasis on the family, relationships with our friends, and the surrounding community. (Mark 5:19)
Authenticity - Telling the truth in love, walking the talk, and living what we believe- regardless of the consequences. (1 John 1:6-7)
Instruction - Teaching Biblical Truths, because they will not know if someone does not tell them. ( 2 Timothy 3:16)
Transformation - Changing lives, both churched and unchurched , for the better in Christ. (Romans 12:2)
Hands on Ministry - Using our God - given gifts and talents to make Jesus famous and to multiply ourselves both locally and globally. (Ephesians 4:12)
