REACHing Out Blurb for September 29, 2019

As Christians the concept of forgiveness is key. It’s a non-negotiable. To say that we forgive someone but hold on to negative feelings (sometimes for years or decades) toward that person can be a disaster. I talked to a guy recently that was experiencing just that situation. This man had a wife and one child. Without going into detail, let’s just say that he had “messed up” pretty bad early in his marriage. His wife had every right to not trust him at the time. However, after a long period of seeking Christ and being transformed his wife remains to this day ever distant and unforgiving. This man’s heart is broken again every day as he thinks about what he has lost and that he may never get it back. This picture of a real human situation makes it even more extraordinary to think about the lengths God took to completely forgive people who are completely undeserving of forgiveness (Romans 5:8). Imagine coming to grips with how you have grieved God, being repentant,  but then finding out that He is unwilling to forgive you and never will. How sick would you be knowing what you had lost and could never get back? This doesn’t happen! He made a way through Jesus Christ to be 100% forgiven and in a beautiful relationship with Him, as if our sin had never happened. Don’t take this lightly! Live every day like this has changed your eternity and find ways to spread it to others.
