REACHing Out Blurb for MARCH 8, 2020
Just a practical tip here today...Sometimes you want so much to share Jesus with someone. You know that He can change their life and eternity. It isn't you "pushing" your faith on them, it is you knowing that they will only have real peace when they have the creator of peace, the Prince of Peace, Jesus. Do you know this person? Does this person exist in your life? One of the traps we all seem to get caught in occasionally is feeling as if WE are the ones who save people. Oh, dear. Sometimes we are so full of ourselves. It is God who draws all people to Himself and He speaks directly to all of us through His Word, the Holy Bible. So, shouldn't that be the main tool in our toolbox when trying to reach that person for Christ? (The answer is yes.) Here is something I do regularly (this is the practical part). I first ask the person if they have a bible. If not, I give them one (always have one ready). I then ask them if there is anywhere special they have been reading in the bible lately. Whatever the answer (and you'll get a lot of interesting ones), direct them to the Gospel of John. Put a bookmark in the first page of John (even a scrap of paper). Tell them to read it slowly and think of lots of questions. Promise to get back to them to discuss it with them. Know that you will not have all their answers. But, just by the very act of doing this, you are proving how important it is to you...that you are willing to sacrifice for it.
